Optimising Vessel Navigation Efficiency for Climate Adaptation

Developed a data-driven solution for optimising vessel navigation to adapt to changing weather patterns, reduce risks, and enhance collaboration among maritime stakeholders.

As a Data Analytics Developer at IDTC Teesside University, I focused on improving vessel navigation efficiency in response to climate adaptation needs. The project involved visualising predicted weather patterns using APIs, and vessel movement data to reduce risks from adverse weather conditions.

I conducted research to develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and designed dashboards to visualise vessel movements and KRIs. The project culminated in a proof-of-concept validated by academic researchers and maritime specialists, resulting in a comprehensive report, visualisations, and actionable recommendations for implementation.
